“Three” Ririe-Woodbury Dance Company Student Matinee
Performance
Wednesday December 12th

This Performance:
Junior
and Senior High School students
are invited to attend Ririe Woodbury’s student matinee performance.
THREE will be the last full evening of works
presented by Artistic Director Charlotte Boye-Chistensen presented by
Ririe-Woodbury Dance Company. The evening will feature Interiors (2008), Lost (2007), The Finish Line (2012) and But Seriously... (2011).
Interiors is Boye-Christensen's brilliant collaboration with visual artist Trent Call.

The
Finish Line, which premiered in 2012, is
Boye-Christensen's work inspired by the ultimate run – the journey through
a relationship.
Siesta (1995) is based on the the works of
Alberto Giacometti, and is the first work Boye-Christenesn set on the company.
But
Seriously… is the
the highly successful collaboration between writer David Kranes, comedian/actor Ethan Philips, architect Nathan Webster, and Boye-Christensen.
Graded
Assignment: Concert Critique (50 points)
It is a required graded assignment for
students in Dance 1, 2, 3 and PDC to attend one university or professional
level modern dance concert a semester and write a critique on it. There are only a couple approved
performances available, do not leave it until the last minute at the end of the
semester! This concert performance
is approved to count towards the concert report assignment.
Through attending and viewing artistic
concert dance, students are able to see professional dancers and professional
choreography, thus enhancing their perception, understanding, and appreciation
of dance. Students see new
possibilities for dance and what to aspire to when dancing, performing, and
choreographing themselves. There
is so much that can be learned through watching.
Cost:
$5
These professional concerts usually range
from $20-$50 and we, as a school, have the great opportunity to see such
companies at a reduced, or even free rate! There is a minimal transportation charge for the bus at only
$5.
Schedule: Students are “School Excused” from A2
at 10:00 am A3 (NOT A4).
10:00 -Meet
at front of school to load bus (bring and eat your lunch on the bus)
11:00 - Noon -Performance
12:00 pm -Rose
Wagner Theater. EAT OWN LUNCH ON
BUS!

To
Attend:
Please come with us to see the
performance dressed nice. Students
must travel with us on the bus to and from the concert. Bring your lunch to eat on the
bus on the way home. Bring
pen/pencil and paper. All school rules apply.
Mrs. Di Lello MUST have the payment receipt and attached permission slip signed
by a parent/guardian in order to board the bus. Please pay money to Lone Peak High School, re: PDC Workshops / Fieldtrips account. Due: before you
board the bus. ASAP
